__ Our oustanding 2005-2006 projects __

*  Laws of Life Essay Contest – 700 High School and Middle School students from Novato participate in an essay contest with a formal awards ceremony and prizes.

*  Annual Smoke Alarm Installation  - in partnership with Novato Fire Department, over 800 new smoke alarms have been installed at Novato mobile homes at no cost to the residents.

* St. Vincent’s School for Boys - proceeds from fundraisers support this school which provides education, counseling and housing for at-risk boys.

* Fishing in the City - in partnership with the Novato Parks & Recreation Department and the California Department of Fish and Game, annual fishing instruction is given to elementary school children in the classroom and a day of fishing is provided for Novato families at Scottsdale Pond.

* North Bay Children’s Center - Rotarians have supplied materials and labor to provide a toddler garden for this children’s center that provides low-income families with quality child care.


* Novato Human Needs Center - Our Club donated funds to help purchase a new truck for use by the NHNC.

*
Literacy in the Schools - Rotarians support literacy in the schools through the Even Start program for ESL pre-schoolers and their parents.  And weekly reading sessions with students children and grand children and funding of materials.

* Water Projects – A joint project with the Rotary Club of Jinja, Uganda to construct 24 protected water spring wells to bring clean water to villages.
 Project in Equador to provide clean water.

* Project Vanya
- Our Club has supported a Russian child with severe birth defects. Vanya was brought to California and is currently living here while undergoing surgical procedures to correct his deformities.

and to raise funds for supporting our projects:

* Circus Chimera
- Theme this year, Alice in Wonderland, and excellent sponsorship captured record attendance and results.

* Christmas Tree Sales - Our 3rd Year for selling Chritsmas trees as a service to the community.

* Rotary Foundation - Exceeded Club goals for member contributions to the Rotary International Foundation.

Our Meeting starts promptly at 7:15 am. Come in by 7:00 am to enjoy coffee and hot or cold breakfast.

Driving directions: From Hwy 101 in Novato take the Rowland Blvd exit EAST toward Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. At first stop light after entering into Vintage Oaks, turn left on to Rowland Way (after turn see Chevron station on your right - Moylan's on your left), bear left around curve and enter left into Moylan's - Carl's Jr. parking lot.
